Chechen Republic of Ichkeria, Ministry of Foreign Affairs

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs was established just after the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria declared its sovereignty and independence on November 8, 1991. Representing a young republic, our MFA struggled to establish greater than a few overseas offices. Today, more than thirty years later, the MFA has some one hundred representatives at more than fifty diplomatic missions worldwide, all working in exile as the Russian Federation continues its military occupation of our territory.

Our Mission

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is called upon to formulate, coordinate and implement foreign policy initiatives relating to issues of national sovereignty, the economy and national security. The MFA, fulfilling its mandate, took upon itself the obligation to de-occupy the territory of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria.

Facing the complex arena of international relations in a globalized world, a guiding principle of the ChRI Government is that its international relations always strengthen and protect the national interests of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria.

For the MFA, the goals of de-occupying the territory of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria and recognition by other countries as a sovereign state are of the utmost priority.
